Making Music is Serious LeisureMusical satisfaction grows with the time and commitment that you give to it. When you join a Festival City Winds ensemble, you become part of a group working to create wonderful music. Add our exceptional instruction to the mix, and you've got a combination that is bound to be both challenging and satisfying. StructureThe organizaton features 4 bands that perform a repertoire of wide ranging difficulty, from level 1 to 5.5 within the band grading system of 6 levels. The Novice Band performs band music at level 1-2 . The Concert Band performs at level 2-3 . The Symphonic Band performs at level 3-4 . The Symphonic Wind Ensemble performs at level 4-5.5 . Beginner Classes are available for those who have never played before, or who have played a little, long ago, and want to get a fresh start. These classes run for 10 weeks starting in September and January. Summer Band is an extension of the regular season through to July 1st. Members of all 3 bands meet in a combined band to perform lighter music in the tradition of summer park concerts. Clinics and Workshops sponsored by Festival City Winds are free to members and then open to the community of large for a workshop fee. FeesThere is a yearly fee (as determined by the board of directors) for membership in the Society, as determined by the board of directors.
